Wellington waste stations
We’re using excess pallets to build waste sorting stations.
We’re excited about the latest innovation that Wellington Environmental Manager Hannah has kicked off in Wellington.
Working with our BIM team, she figured out how to use excess pallets to build waste sorting stations – specifically for hard plastics 1, 2 & 5, polystyrene, PVC/HDPE offcuts and soft plastics. They have already been installed at the Wainuiomata High School redevelopment and Wellington City Mission Whakamaru, and will be rolled out across our other Wellington sites.
This is just one of the initiatives that Hannah and our other Environmental Managers around the country have introduced to create a circular economy and keep resources out of landfill. They have been linking up waste streams and introducing recycling stations across our offices and sites – all part of our commitment to being a leader in sustainable construction practices.
