Waste Management 101 event
We had a great turnout at our inaugural Waste Management 101 event in Queenstown, where we invited builders from all around the region to our Sudima Queenstown site to check out options for reducing construction waste going to landfill.
The main objective of the session was to help Queenstown’s construction industry to explore ways to be more sustainable. We demonstrated our Sudima team’s waste minimisation and landfill reduction strategies, which were developed in line with guidance received from Queenstown Lakes District Council’s Waste Minimisation Officer, and showcased local recycling options offered by All Waste, Resene and Plasback.
The session was organised by Naylor Love Central Otago’s staff-led Sustainability Committee and is the first of many planned events in the region, demonstrating small initiatives with a big impact in a region that is so clearly calling out for it – 80 people attended at 7am in the morning, showing great support.
