Taupō Community Garden
Our Tauhara geothermal power station team have been contributing to a new community garden in Taupō.
We’ve delivered over 150 cubic metres of spare soil from our Tauhara geothermal project to the new garden site in Spa Park, which is being used to make a firm foundation for the base of the gardens.
We send the food scraps from the site lunch room to MyNoke to be turned into compost at their worm farm. We’ve teamed up with MyNoke to donate the compost to the community gardens when it is ready.
With working bees in full swing, the gardens are shaping up to be a very special place for the local community.
