Tauhara turbine hall concrete pour
Poetry in motion! Our first major milestone pour for the turbine hall pedestal foundation at Contact Energy’s Tauhara Power Station went very smoothly.
That’s 750 cubic metres or 1,800 tonnes of concrete pumped and placed, involving 126 truck movements, 126 concrete slump tests, and about 700 hours of work – phew!
Heaps of planning, coordination and quality assurance paid off, with everything going exactly to plan. Cheers to Connell Construction, Dellta Contractors, Allied Concrete, Firth Industries, Kennards Hire, Aotea Group, Pioneer Concrete Pumps, WSP, Cheal Consultants, Reofab, CANZAC and Taupo Concrete Placers.
