High profile design, low environmental impact.
Naylor Love was engaged to provide a design and build solution for Ravensdown’s Corporate Head Office in Christchurch, including offices for the senior management and finance teams and a customer service call centre. Their 125 staff had been housed in portacabins for over three years following the Canterbury earthquakes.
Ravensdown were looking for a low environmental impact, high profile design solution that provided a pleasant and practical working environment for their staff. The building needed to convey high quality materials and detailing, while still reinforcing Ravensdown’s corporate profile as a ‘grass roots’ agricultural business.
The resulting 1,700m² single-storey building is highly durable and easily maintained, with a mix of polished concretes, acrylics, natural timber finishes through to plywood and LVL portal frames – a beautiful and functional mix of traditional finishes and contemporary detailing. Environmental goals were achieved with the extensive use of timber in the structure and the low energy LED lighting control system.
The client was thrilled with the building we delivered in response to their brief, designed in partnership with Stufkens + Chambers Architects.
