Early Contractor Involvement enhances project planning and delivery.
We built the first stage of the Nelson Junction retail centre, a development of 12 large format retail units ranging from 500sqm to 1,500sqm. The building has a hybrid engineered timber/steel structure, with steel portal legs and LVL rafters/purlins. The roof and walls are formed from insulated panels, with architectural wood cladding to the shop frontage. We installed a mezzanine floor in one of the larger tenancies using a Potius engineered timber flooring system.
We provided early contractor involvement services for the client, enabling effective cost and budget management. Our team offered real-time pricing feedback and identified cost-saving alternatives, leveraging the latest market conditions, labour rates and material costs to optimize the project.
By engaging with the tenants as they signed up, we were able to accommodate specific requirements and align our construction milestones with their operational goals. We facilitated clear and consistent communication, allowing for seamless coordination of their fit-out works and our base build, and addressed any challenges proactively to avoid delays. This collaborative approach ensured that tenants were able to open their stores on schedule, providing a fully operational retail environment from day one.
We’re currently building the second stage of the Nelson Junction development, a Woolworths supermarket.
