A beautifully detailed, high-quality office fitout.

We completed an office fitout for a government department in central Christchurch, bringing their staff back under one roof for the first time since the Canterbury earthquakes. Our team knew the building well, having completed a seismic strengthening project there earlier in the year, and we were still on site completing further works for the landlord.

One level is largely public facing, with a reception area and interview rooms, and the other is offices, meeting rooms, breakout spaces and a lunch room. Our scope for the fitout included completely stripping out both floors, carefully separating materials for recycling and finding new homes for various items to keep the waste down. We built non-load bearing walls, installed a suspended ceiling system, and altered the plumbing, mechanical and electrical services.

Extensive use of Autex and Woven Image finishes, including bespoke carved panels and fins, provided a decorative element as well as regulating the acoustics, allowing privacy while keeping the space mainly open. Beautifully detailed curved walls and bulkheads and feature strip lighting add something special, with precise placement of the many interconnecting elements essential.

We worked closely with the client’s furniture supplier to ensure that power and data was exactly where they needed it, and were ably supported by our carefully chosen specialist subcontractors to deliver this exceptional, high-quality fitout.
