bp EV Gigahub

Our Canterbury Projects & Interiors team was engaged to design and build the first bp Gigahub™ in the Southern Hemisphere at Christchurch Airport. The 150kW dedicated electric car charging facility has 12 fast EV charge points with plenty of capacity for more to be added in the future.

We worked closely with bp to leverage design phase efficiencies and streamline procurement, including arranging for the civil works packages to proceed while the services design was being finalised. We staged the consents as work packages were confirmed alongside the design, resulting in the project being designed and delivered in just five months.

Plenty of hard work and flexibility meant that we were able to accommodate design changes requested by the client and still hand the facility over early, in plenty of time for a grand opening of the critical EV charging infrastructure attended by the Prime Minister and Christchurch Mayor.
