A smooth-running build of top-quality student accommodation.
Built in the heart of Dunedin’s university quarter, Anscombe Village is a three storey, 57-bed student accommodation block, the first of five planned for the site.
There are a range of apartment layouts – studio, 1 bedroom, 4 bedroom and 6 bedroom – all designed to be at the top-end of the Dunedin student market. The high level of design consistency between floors and apartments of the same type allowed for an efficient construction sequence and will simplify ongoing facilities management.
We built the apartments with high-quality, low-maintenance materials, using an attractive combination of Trespa panels, Alucolux and Rockcote on the exterior cladding.
We promoted a culture of “no surprises” throughout the project, working collaboratively from the concept design stage on an ECI basis to build up the design and budget. The wider project team worked together to understand bespoke details, identify methodologies and devise build sequencing.
Despite weather issues at a critical time, Covid cases and supplier delays, the Anscombe Village project ran smoothly. We handed over to the client right on schedule and in plenty of time for the 2023 academic year.
