Thinking outside the square in Central Otago
Our foreman at the Pak’nSave site in Shotover Park, Nick Struthers, needed some deadmen – concrete blocks used as anchors for precast walls.
Thinking outside the square he phoned around the local concrete companies and offered to take any excess concrete.
To date he has saved 40 cubic metres of concrete being dumped as waste, and was recently recognised with a Naylor Love award for Innovation and Environment. Great work Nick!
