NZ Workplace Health and Safety Awards 2023
Our team took out two categories at the New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Awards.
Our Waikato/Bay of Plenty team won the WorkSafe New Zealand Health category for an initiative which addresses a specific work-related risk. Their entry was a custom-designed drilling rig used on a seismic project in a concrete car park building. The rig eliminated health risks and minimised safety risks that the workers would otherwise have been exposed to for weeks and allowed the work to proceed twice as quickly.
David South from our Auckland team won the Site Safe Mental Health Champion category, recognising an individual who has effectively championed mental health in their organisation. David’s entry was for eliciting greater open wellbeing kōrero on site by introducing round-table lunch discussions, and for writing and recording an influential song about speaking up on mental health.
We were also delighted to get together to celebrate Jen Dransfield from our Canterbury Health & Safety team, was also a finalist in the NZISM Practitioner of the Year category.
