New Zealand Workplace Health & Safety Awards
Our Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Project team were finalists in the IMPAC best collaboration between PCBUs category at the 2022 New Zealand Workplace Health & Safety Awards!
Working together, Naylor Love, Daveron Scaffolding, Goldfield Stone, Tech Clean & Restoration, Engeo and Heritage Management Services undertook extensive interdisciplinary planning to safely retrieve treasured heritage panelling from inside the Cathedral’s War Memorial Chapel.
The stunning joinery panels contain the Cathedral’s Roll of Honour, and the task to retrieve them involved engineering a safe access point, removing hazardous contaminant in situ, contingency planning, and building bespoke storage boxes for their safe removal by chain block and crane.
The work of each organisation involved in the task made for a successful outcome and we look forward to seeing the stunning Roll of Honour restored and reinstated for the people of Christchurch in future.
