KiwiHarvest Winter Food Campaign
We’ve teamed up with KiwiHarvest to support their Winter Food Campaign, pledging to build up to 100 upcycled planter packages for locals in need, who can use them to grow their own vegetables and herbs.
Our Central Otago Health & Safety Manager Mike Healy designed and built the prototype planter with his teenage son. They’re made from recycled pallets, incorporate self-watering reservoirs, and fit in the back of a car so they can be moved easily. Thanks to some incredible support from other campaign partners, each one will come as a complete package with seeds, netting and locally made compost.
There are heaps of ways you can support Winter Food Campaign, from donating groceries, to donating money, to donating some time to help build the planters – Mike will be establishing planter building community workshops over the next few weeks.
