Cover-up at Dunedin Railway Station
The giant cover-up at Dunedin Railway Station is now complete!
Brazier Scaffolding have been hard at work over the past week installing a massive printed scrim over the heritage-listed main station building.
The scrim was manufactured by Vital Signs, who took a series of detailed photographs before the scaffolding went up. Once they had the exact measurements of the scaffolding, they printed the photos onto Carrflex Mesh, a PVC-coated knitted polyester.
To install the scrim, we ran scaffolding tubes along the top of the prints, tied on ropes, and hoisted them up the face of the building, securing them in place with cable ties. The ropes, tubing and cable ties will keep the scrim safely attached and under control, even if the wind picks up – as it did on the first day of installation, delaying our big reveal by a couple of days!
