Coast Care Bay of Plenty volunteer day
Our Tauranga team volunteered with Coast Care for a dune planting between The Mount and Papamoa.
Coast Care is a community initiative supported by local councils and the Department of Conservation to educate the public and restore coastal areas.
We started the day learning about the plants we were planting (spinifex and pīngao) and why it is so important that these species thrive. Then we all got stuck in digging holes, sprinkling fertilizer and planting.
We all had a lot of fun at the beach on a beautiful June morning, doing something good for our local environment!
