Churton Park tree planting
We were pleased to return to Churton Park School to plant a tōtara tree to commemorate the redevelopment project we completed there last year.
In some nice symbolism, it was placed right outside the school’s Totara Ridge classroom block!
We offer these native trees at the wrap up of all projects, something that always feels extra special at a school because of the chance to help tamariki learn about the importance of trees as carbon soakers and the benefits they offer the environment.
While we champion the use of low carbon materials and building methods wherever possible in our commitment to becoming carbon net zero by 2050, we’re aware that this is a journey – not a sprint. Planted now, these trees are a way to reduce carbon emissions in the long-term.
We’re sure this tōtara will be well taken care of at its new home.
