Building carbon calculator
We’re offering free access to a carbon calculator we’ve developed to help our clients visualise the potential carbon impacts of construction material choices.
The calculator was developed in 2019 as a result of a Naylor Love-commissioned research project looking at a typical six-storey commercial building constructed in two ways – one using engineered timber and the other using conventional concrete and steel. The calculator showed engineered timber model reduced carbon emissions by up to 90 percent.
Until now we’ve regarded it as Naylor Love intellectual property, but we recently decided it’s more important to share it for the public good. The more use the calculator gets, the more likely people are to select sustainable solutions.
