Bird of the Year 2021
Voting for Te Manu Rongonui o te Tau/Bird of the Year opened at 9am today!
Our staff-led Sustainability Committee are campaign managers for the North Island Brown Kiwi. These amazing survivors are the only kiwi in the wild in the North Island, having adapted to living in pine forests and rough farmland from sea level to 1400 metres, as well as native forests and scrub.
Climate change and habitat loss are increasingly large threats to these iconic birds, so we’d love you to vote for them in Forest & Bird’s Bird of the Year competition!
