2024 Site Safe Awards
We’re so proud to see some of our Wellington team recognised for their achievements at the Site Safe Health, Safety and Wellbeing Awards.
Our Wellington Regional Hospital copper pipe replacement team won the Safety Contribution Award for a small team. The judges commented that:
There can’t be many more challenging environments for a major construction project than within a working hospital. Naylor Love’s copper pipe team is replacing all the copper pipe in Wellington Regional Hospital while needing to be invisible to patients, staff, and the hospital’s essential daily operations. Managing dust, noise and airflows, and off-site fabrication are all part of the strategy. These involve some hi-tech tools based on the copper pipe team “cures” of setting the standard, not just preaching it, and of providing the means to succeed.
Health & Safety Advisor Gareth Wood was one of the winners of the Safety Contribution for an Individual Award. The judges said:
Gareth came through as a carpenter and has turned to a health and safety role without looking back. His colleagues think that his trade background gives him a special appreciation of the issues facing the team.
Gareth champions innovation, positive change, and continual improvement, and he does so with a manner that’s described as easy-going and approachable. He’s especially focused on the “health” side of health and safety and is widely recognised as an expert in the area.
Congratulations to all the award winners, finalists, graduates and scholarship winners and thank you to all the sponsors and, of course, to Site Safe!
