Building Carbon Calculator update

We developed the calculator a couple of years ago as a simple tool to compare the upfront carbon emissions of structural building materials in the New Zealand construction market.

It’s a brilliant way to show the carbon benefits of various building products to clients who are interested in sustainability. We’ve been delighted by the uptake of the calculator in the wider construction whānau.

Our 2023 update included more EPD data for engineered timber products, more space for custom EPDs, and some great options for carbon reduced concrete mixes. In the latest (2024) version, we’ve updated some data in the carbon cost spreadsheet.
