2019 NZIOB Building Industry Awards
The Naylor Love team came away from the NZIOB New Zealand Building Industry Awards with five highly commended awards, topping the field in three categories!
- Grant Molloy won the Site Safe & CHASNZ Safety Excellence Award for his safety initiatives at our Christchurch prison projects.
It was clear to the judges that safety was a primary consideration in the planning and execution of the works for this project.
- Tom Pyatt won a highly commended in the $1.5-$5m category for the LPC Woolstore at Te Ana Marina, working collaboratively with Fulton Hogan on a shared site to manage the many environmental hazards in the marine environment and managing the many challenges that older buildings bring.
- Kiel Maycroft won highly commended for NZIOB Charitable Trust $5-$8m Award for the Newtown School Main Classroom Block, topping this category. This was a challenging project in a high traffic area, with variable ground conditions, material supply delays and the live school environment among the curve balls.
The judges considered Kiel instrumental in front-footing the issues that arose and that he employed sound processes to mitigate the delays and costs those issues caused.
- Joel Andrews and Tom Pyatt were both highly commended in the BCITO Young Achiever Award.
